First edition thus 299pp illust. w. 8 black and white plates, ex libris (usual cancellation stamps, pockets etc.) card boards w. title plate at front board and cloth reinforcing spine, fair (rubbed, scuffing to board edges, corners bruised, sl sunned spine w. slightly scuffed head and foot, spine splitting down rear guttering w. splitting becoming evident at front guttering, discolouration to paste downs and free endpapers, booksellers sticker unobtrusive at front paste down, internally reinforced neatly at hinges w. library cloth, minor internal separation just appearing between several sections of text but still intact and not affecting stability of book, text clean and bright and without usual foxing) Illustrated by Maxfield Parrish in Monochrome.
