Campbell and Co., 1843. hard cover, marbled paper covered boards with leather spine and corners, 5 raised bands and gilt lettering, decoration to spine. the boards and leather have some rubbing and scuffing, but are in above average condition. textblock edges are finely and uniformly foxed, as are the endpapers. the printed pages have only a few spots. no writing or markings, no bumps. strong binding.; 208pp., abridged and translated from the original works by the author.. Later Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket, as Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

London: Printed for Geo. B. Whittaker, 1827. Second Edition. Full contemporary maroon calf, decoratively gilt and blind stamped, with very ornate five-panelled spine, all edges marbled. A few touches of foxing to prelims, joints a touch weak, small split to front upper joint. Overall a very near fine copy.. Octavo. Collated and complete. 583p. Composed from the original documents of the archives of the supreme council, and from those of subordinate tribunals of the Holy Office. Abridged and translated from the original works of D. Juan Antonio Llorente, formerly Secretary of the Inquisition, Chancelor of the University of Toledo, Knight of the Order of Charles III. This copy in particular was gifted to Anna Jane Brusk (to be Lupton of the famed religious English Luptons, descended from Roger Lupton, chaplain to Henry VIII). A beautiful inscription, dated December 1830.
