Highly illustrated by steel engravings throughout the text, covering English history through 1848. Raised bands and gilt lettering and decorations on spine. Also features marbling on three edges. Binding and text block very tight and clean, though some minor foxing on initial leaves of Volume 1. Some darkening and spotting on areas of leather covers. Very minor shelf wear.
