The book tells the history of the town from the medieval foundation through to the start of the 20th century. Generally known as Burke's History, surviving 1907 copies have become rare collector items.
A heavy book at 1.72 kg, original full crushed maroon morocco, with the arms of Clonmel stamped in gilt to upper and lower covers as seen in the images, slightly loose and has been taped inside, small hole to back cover near spine, tightly bound, all images near fine with tissue guards still in place. Ink inscription on a front endpaper.

Rebacked in goatskin with new label. Ink inscription on a front endpaper. Ink marginalia p. 5 as well as pencil signature of James Reaney, Canadian historian and playwright, a former owner. Canon William Burke's history has long been recognized as the definitive work on the town of Clonmel. The book tells the history of the town from the medieval foundation through to the start of the 20th century. Generally known as Burke's History, surviving 1907 copies have become rare collector items.
