Voltaire's biography of Charles XII of Sweden first published in 1731, translated by Antonia White with an introduction by R M Hatton. 285pp with index, illustrated with black and white reproductions and maps to endpapers. Red and gilt crest to top board and gilt lettering on red panel to spine. Top edges tinted. Slight crushing to base of spine and tiny crease to one corner, otherwise very good/near fine copy with no inscriptions. Orange slipcase has slight fading to edges and small spot to one edge, otherwise very good..
