About This Item
London: Simpkin, Marshall & Co, 1885. Octavo. 2nd edition. xii, 572 pages, color frontispiece, double map, and plans. This is the important second edition which deals with both the classic and regular spellings of names on Regimental decorations, thus, Palasi is here spelt "Plassey: Lakhnao "Lucknow". This will be essential for the serious student of the history of these regiments. Bound in dark blue cloth over beveled boards, corners lightly bent, some chipping to foot, a few spots of rubbing to edges, upper board stamped in gilt depicting the royal crest, spine lettering gilt, hinges weakening with one which had been reglued at some point. A good clean copy.
