Printed for the author by Thomas Bowman, Richmond, 1821. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Re-backed with replacement leather spine with raised bands, now worn, and contemporary (to text) cross-hatched leather covers with gilt decoration around edge, covers are lightly worn and are marked on rear face, worn corners. End-papers have been replaced and possibly pasted over an earlier bookplate; a twentieth century bookplate is pasted on the inside of the front cover. Pages are clean, plates, fold-out pedigrees and fold-out map are present. Plates have foxing, on some this is heavy, and pages adjacent to plates also show foxing. Pasted slips of paper with a hand-written note are present on pages 17 and Appendix xlviii. Inked note to index and additions to pedigrees. Size: Quarto. iv, 446, cxxxii.
