Linz, Austria: Buch und Kunstdruckerei Welsermühl, [ 1945 ]. First edition. staplebound cardboard covers. Fair. Thin octavo (standard size). Wear to edges and corners. Cloth at spine splitting. Rear hinge loose. Oblong hole in first free endpaper, no effect on any text. pages browned, a little brittle. Covers soiled. Rear cover has a light pencil drawing of the round head of KILROY. Name of former owner on pastedown, a member of 1st platoon, Co, A. 101st infantry Regiment, 26th Div. 44 p. w/ b&w illus., color miniatures, maps with color, unit statistics. P. 3 has surprisingly stasteful red underlining with large red parenthesis bracketing the paragraph on supply. A vre fre pages have one or two sentences underlined in pencil. A very uncommon unit history, covering the history of the units of the division, some back to the French and Indian war, through the primary coverage of the Second World War. The YD, landing in September, participated in Northern France, Lorraine, the Saar, the Battle of the Bulge, the Rhineland, and Central Europe, under the 3rd US Army.
