From the library of the Essex Institute, with bookplate overstamped ‘withdrawn', neat blind stamp at the head of the title-page, and paper label at the foot of the spine. 12mo. A.K. Newman & Co. 1834.

Spine and edges lightly rubbed. Offset from the frontispiece to the titlepage, otherwise clean and crisp. An above average copy. Guildhall Library describe it as 'a new ed. of pt.2 of David Henry's Historical account of the curiosities of London and Westminster' first published 1753.

Seiten fast weiß, vereinzelt gering stockfleckig. Mit e. Besitzstempel (Erberg?) mit Krönchen, sowie e. Namenszug v. alter Hand am vord. fliegenden Vorsatzblatt. BLC 349,9 - früher Führer durch die Westminster Abbey in London "Designed chiefly as a Guide to strangers", der regelmäßig, unter gleichem Titel u. bei wechselnden Herausgebern, bis zum Ende d. 19. Jh. erschien - "The new Monuments are continued down to the present Year" - zuweilen zusammen mit "An historical description of the Tower of London" und "An historical description of St. Paul Cathedral". Als Verfasser d. früheren Ausgaben wird in manchen Quellen David Henry (1710-1792) angegeben, BLC nennt ihn jedoch nicht. Seltene ältere Ausgabe.
