Sydney: Angus & Robertson. 1964. Large octavo size [16x24cm approx]. a Very Good copy in Very Good dustjacket. Dustjacket is now protected in a purpose-made plastic sleeve. A nice copy. Illustrated with Black and White plates. Endpaper maps. Previous owner's neat signature to preliminary pages. Dustjacket mildy rubbed. 520 pages. Very little is known of the way in which merino sheep came into British hands toward the end of the 18th century. The story starts with Joseph Banks and George III, and the establishment of a Royal flock of Spanish Merinos at Windsor, Kew and Richmond between 1788 & 1791. From these beginnings grew Australia's sheep and wool trade. Robust, professional packaging and tracking provided for all parcels. . 1st Edition. Hardback.
