Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages slightly loose. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Slight staining overall. Tears to cloth to spine.

Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Some cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding loose. Dedication to front free endpaper. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing, fraying and tearing to spine ends and edges. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is dulled but remains brighter on front. Book has strong forward lean.

Copiously illus. with charming line drawings the book is in VG condition with chipping to head of spine of tanned d/w with 2 small tears to upper edge- largely caused by being slightly oversized and one 1/2" tear to tail of spine. All repairs done with acid free conservation grade tape.

A later edition of a work originally published in 1912 & which gives a glimpse into a rural Somerset now long gone. The book is an historical, topographical & architectural guide to the county.
