Book is in near fine condition: clean covers, tight binding, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, EP cracking front but quite solid (just crack in paper, probably done when new book was first opened). Original dust jacket is present: rubbing at corners and edges, tiny 5mm chip top spine corner, 1cm tear upper rear. INSCRIBED & SIGNED "To -------- ---------- with kindest regards, E. P. Hillary" on the title page. The USA edition was published one year before the UK edition, plus the USA edition has color photos (UK does not) and more photos than UK edition. Objectives of searching for yeti, studying prolonged effects of staying above 19000', climb Makalu. Yeti results were interesting, Makalu climb near disastrous but quite close to summit, effects of staying high long clearly shown to be deleterious.
