A very reasonable Ex-Library hardback book is relatively tight considering the provenance, with some lean. Boards sharp and clean, title gilt perfect. Text block has light toning and slight dustiness to edges. The text pages are unblemished, except for the first 5 leaves that have a couple of small spots. The front pastedown has small letter J to top edge. The FEP has circular discard stamp, partial date stamps, and remnant of lending sheet. The half title and title pages are clean and unmarked. The copyright page has library stamp with notation. The rest of the text block is clean, no other stamps, writing or notation. Bump to foot of spine. Graded as good due to ex-library status, however looks and feels better that the grade given. Jacket has spent its entire life in a protective cover and therefore is very clean and smart, no creasing or tears. The panels have very bold colours, there is a feint watermark to the top foreedge corner of the front panel. The spine has perhaps a barest hint of sunning, and very light toning, only noticeable due to a circular "clean" spot where a label had been affixed to the original protective cover. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A very solid ex-library example, in lovely bright jacket, of this collectible and increasingly scarce Gollancz title. We do not normally list ex-library copies unless they are exceptionally clean or collectible. This copy in the archival fitted cover looks great on the shelf and would benefit any serious collection.
