DUSTJACKET INCLUDED of the first print with the YELLOW CHARACTERS "ANNE FRANK" at the top.

First edition of the diary of Anne Frank in the original Dutch language. Small Octavo. One of 3036 booklets printed on June 25th 1947. Original white and red paper-covered boards. Illustration with 3 photo's of the hiding place ('Het Achterhuis'), 1 groundfloor-plan and 2 examples (facsimile) of the handwriting of Anne Frank. Introduction by Annie Romein-Verschoor.Title on the front board and on the spine. The top of the spine has a professional restauration (2 cm). A good copy. Pages are slightly tanned after 75 years. Restauration of the board / first page, see photo. Inscription in Dutch on the first page. Text in Dutch: "Ter aandenken aan je toegewijd werk in Beth Alyah. Put uit dit werk kracht voor 't zware werk dat je wacht"; Augustus '47- Beth Alyah.

The original dust jacket of the first print, with the YELLOW characters 'ANNE FRANK' at the top, has had a professional restoration.

Anne began her diary on her 13th birthday, 12 June 1942 during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. The diary was found in the hiding place by Miep Gies, after Anne Frank, her Jewish family and other Jews were taken away to the concentration-camps. Miep Gies was one of the helpers during their time of hiding in 'The Secret Annexe./ Het Achterhuis'. Anne Frank died in march 1945 in Bergen Belsen. The father of Anne, Otto Frank, was the only surviver of the hiding group.
