With, the twenty-fourth and final book in his autobiographical series, Rupert Croft-Cooke (1903-1979) completed the remarkable sequence which he called 'The Sensual World'. The subject is basically his return home after many years abroad. In 1974 Croft-Cooke suffered a stroke and found walking and writing difficult in his remaining years and no longer able to right in cursive script, he completed 'The Green, Green Grass', his last published work, by laboriously writing pages in block letters and having his long time companion Joseph type it. Very uncommon to find in such very good condition with a dustjacket. 11. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Near Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
