About This Item
New York: Alfred A. Knopf - Borzoi Books, 1991. Pre-Publication Typescript . Large Softcover. Fine. 8.5" x 11. Highly Collectible! This is a limited-printing copy of the typescript, intended for selected booksellers (with a cover letter from the editor bound in) and subsequently published by Alfred A. Knopf, though not necessarily as written in this early incarnation. It is not to be confused with other pre-publication formats [ARC (Advance Reading Copy) or Uncorrected Proofs]. According to the author: "This book is the partial record of a walk I made up Broadway [Manhattan], starting at the Battery and aiming for the Bronx." Cohn traversed about three miles (to Times Square), meeting fascinating people from all walks of life, while witnessing and participating in extraordinary goings-on. A remarkable "Americana" slice of life. 452 pages. CONDITION: a bright, solid, square, unmarked, uncreased copy with negligible shelf-wear - now in a clear, protective pol;ypropylene bag.
