About This Item

Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Doran & Co, 1935. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good/Near Fine. 8vo., 268pp. Sharp stated First Edition. Square, tight and clean throughout with just a touch of edge-wear. Spine cloth toning as is common. Small off-setting to the front end-paper opposite the bookplate of Alfred Sutro, noted collector and one-time President of the Book Club of California. Very attractive unclipped dust wrapper, ($2.00) has some fairly minor edge-wear and rubbing. Spine panel toning. Still fresh and bright with no creases, chipping or tears. Long presentation to Sutro on the front end-paper, "Ex Libris Alfred Sutro, signed for him by Christopher Morley. 'Salud y Peseta'. (Still October 30-1935)." A very pretty collectable association copy.
