Textblocks and illustrations solid and clean. All plates present.. iv, 844 pp.; 832 pp.; 832 pp.; 832 pp.; 832 pp. Numerous b/w illustrations. Folio. From the first American appearance of a Tale of Two Cities, novels by Wilkie Collins, numerous illustrations by Winslow Homer and Thomas Nast, to the lead up to the Civil War, Lincoln's election, the first battles, the hard middle years. An invaluable record in a significant run.
