About This Item
Hodder & Stoughton, 1994. 1994 First Edition. hardcover. 158pp, small owner's signature, the text block appears to have been bound in upside down but this isn't noticeable when in the dustwrapper, otherwise Fine in Fine dw, signed by Alison Hargreaves. Signed copies are very scarce indeed.. In 1995 Hargreaves was the first woman to scale Mount Everest solo without supplementary oxygen. This book is her account of climbing all the great north faces of the Alps in a single season. She was the first climber to accomplish that feat. The series of climbs included summiting the famously difficult north face of the Eiger, which she did while pregnant. She also climbed Ama Dablam in Nepal. Hargreaves tragically perished in 1995 while descending from the peak of K2 in violent weather. . Glacier Books are experienced and professional booksellers. We take pride in offering carefully described books and excellent customer service.
