An unusually fine copy in purple cloth covers with gilt design and lettering to upper board, gilt lettering and floral design to the spine and top edge gilt. Fading to the spine and a couple of light marks to boards as seen in photos but overall clean and bright covers with light rubbing to corners and tips of the spine. Internally with clean, crisp and bright pages. Twelve tipped in plates beautifully illustrated by Charles Robinson, with captioned tissue guards including the Frontispiece, in fine condition, all bar two with corner creases as seen in photos. A couple of tissue guards also with light creases to them, light offsetting to endpapers with old tape marks to corners and previous owner's neat inscription to verso of ffep, please see photos.
