1862. Original manuscript. Fine. Written neatly in sepia ink on a slip of paper, 4.75" x 7.75". Six itemized charges, including: "Sept 2nd - To putting up bills headed Remember the War Meeting - .50"; "3rd - To putting up bills for Irish Meeting - .50"; "5th and 9th - Distributing Notices of Draft - $2.00" ... "13th - To distributing notices for Drafted Men to appear Sept 15th - $1.50". The total is $6.50. Dated Sept 5th [?] 1862, and signed "Received Payment / Leverett Dimock." Docketed on the verso in October, 1862. Leverett Dimock was a Middletown, Connecticut constable at the time [see "The (Middletown) Constitution," Wednesday, October 8, 1862].
