Chapel Hill: The University of North Carolina Press, 1939. First printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good+. 8vo. [10], xi-xii, [2], 273, [1] pp. Brick cloth with gold lettering on the front board and spine. Price of $3.50 on the front flap of the dust jacket. Illustrated with several black and white photographs, facsimiles of sheet music, and a few figures. A history of singing, dancing, music, and folklore in Haiti. In this volume 185 songs are recorded in Creole and translated into English, with melodies for 126 of them included. A Very Good book, slightly askew with foxing to the top textblock; dust jacket is Very Good+ with a few traces of edge wear and toning.
