About This Item

172 pp. Clean and unmarked text in a square and tight binding. DJ is bright, unblemished except for a very small ding at the top spine. Only other blemish is the previous owner's name on the top outside corner of the half title page. From the front DJ flap, "The Crusaders chose their target shrewdly. Hagia Sophia represented the apotheosis of Byzantine art and wealth. rare marbles, gathered from the farthest reaches of the empire, shone in its side galleries, gold candelabra glinted from its nave, and breathless gold mosaics covered every inch of its ceilings."
