(Leeds: Leeds Travelers Education, 2000). Quarto. 254 pages, index. Gypsies and travelers from several generations describe, in their own words, their lives from early in the 20th century to the opening of the 21st century. These are personal histories and viewpoints but collectively they create a vivid picture of life within these communities and how they changed over the century. While Gypsies are known as early as the 16th century in England, their life has never been so thoroughly documented in their own words. Bound in pictorial paper over boards, spine lettering yellow, upper corners bumped. A very good copy.
