Oxford University Press, London, 1940. First Edition. Softcover (Stiff Boards). Very Good Condition/Poor. Illustrator: Gilbert Dunlop. Colour illustrated frontispiece and the decorations within the text have been drawn by Gilbert Dunlop. Gray coloured paperback binding with green coloured decoration and titles to the front panel and green titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A another investigation by Freddie Browne and Jim Fanshaw. Chipping of the backstrip corners with a reading crease also present. The top and bottom backstrip edges have been nibbled by insects and there is some sunning to the top edge. Some creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the panels. Age toning and foxing of the textblock edges and pages. The top right-hand corner is of pages 55 through to 58 have become a little dogeared. The dustwrapper is in poor shape – please see photograph. The front fold over panel has become detached from the rest of the dustwrapper. Chipping with pieces missing to the dustwrapper edge, fold over creases with heavy rubbing of the panels. Holes to the backstrip region and the top inch and lower inch and 1/2 of the backstrip is missing. Size: 12mo (standard paperback). [9], 10 - 256 pages,. Dust Jacket price-clipped.
