Brown embossed cloth binding typical of the 1850s. Gold spine stamping. Front hinge wear and heavily worn spine with tearing and some separation. Spine is brittle. Back hinge shows heavy wear without separation. Scuffing heavy on both covers with heavy corner and edge wear. Some pulling of spine in places where threads are exposed. Heavy foxing throughout. Inscription and previous owner names on front endpaper and flyleaf. Back endpaper and flyleaf contain what appear to be signature practices for previous owner.
