Berg bound these copies at the local National Book Bindery on Peachtree road to give to friends at his own expense. Bound in with the proof is the original dust jacket. A fine copy. This copy inscribed by Conroy to....... in 1988. Laid in is a 3 page hand written note describing the circumstances surrounding the book and Pat Conroy, plus a copy of a telegram from Pat to the same person forwarded to her from Tom Consolino who was connected to Houghton Mifflin at the time of the publication.
