Text very clean, only a handful of marks: one or two paper faults causing slight creasing; small stain to p56; light browning to p81 and light stain at head of pages 87-90. Contains 32 plates and 12 vignettes, all marked proof. Only 1 plate has any browning to image, 23 are remarkably clean and the other 8 have some light browning to edges. Signs of a bookplate having been removed from the front pastedown. Front free end paper detached and with some abrasions. Together with a volume of plates in the Middle HIll boards, the plates for part 1 loosely inserted, those for part 2 bound in. Some browning and spotting. 26 plates. Holzenberg 249 which refers to both vols. Part 2 and the plates are more difficult to find than part 1.

This is an extra large paper copy with two examples of each print - both on inida paper, one marked Proof - the other a proof before letters. There is some spotting to some of the plates and staining to the edges of the first few plates. In old half leather binding which is rather worn. Inner hinges reinforced with leather. Ink owner's name of John Farr to the front free end paper. Pages here measure approximately 46.5x30 cm where in the large paper edition they are 35x25cm. This is a very large and heavy volume and extra postage will be required to send it outside the UK.
