Londini [London]: excudit H. Woodfall, impensis, H. Woodfall, J. Beecroft, C. Bathurst, J. Rivington, [and 18 others in London], 1766. First edition thus. Later full vellum, five raised bands, brown morocco lettering piece. Boards soiled else a very good tight copy, scattered foxing.. [2],viii, [862] pp. Coll. a4-5r3. Title page in red and black. 4to. Text in three columns. Hederich (1675-1748) was a German lexicographer and hellenist who lexicon was first published in 1722. Morrell (1703-1784) was a classical scholar and librettist. He wrote the librettos for Handel's Alexander Balus, Theodora, and Jephtha, but he "never prospered materially -according to William Cole, because he kept low company, especially with musicians, and was irremediably improvident.... In his lifetime [he] was chiefly known, and widely esteemed, as a classical scholar." (ODNB) ESTC T140706.
