Orange cloth with white lettering (roughly) 9 1/2" by 6 1/2" (inches) headband, (xiv) 319 pages including 7 pages of maps, b & w photos through-out, SIGNED by both authors on title page, Near Fine condtiion, dust jacket is in Very Good Plus condition with minor small closed (repaired) tear bottom edge front cover. Now in Mylare. "In 1793 Lieutenant-Governor John Graves Simcoe ordered a road cut through the wilderness of Upper Canada - a military link westward from Lake Ontario & a spur to settlement. 'The Governor's Road' it was called, partly in derision, for its path was narrow and winding, beset with stones & stumps. But the settlers did come; they and their buildings are the subject of this book. The illustrations are by Hugh robertson. They show public buildings as well - inns, mills, churches, courthouses, and jails."
