Oblong 12mo. Green spine cloth with printed paper covered boards in non-glossy flat finish, yellow end papers. 1st edition. Illustrated in color by Clement Hurd. A fine copy in dust jacket with the corners clipped on the front flap and a light $250 stamped at the top of the flap. A bit of darkening to the back panel of the jacket and the yellow end papers. A "Harper Blue Ribbon Book" sticker on the lower left corner of the front panel of the jacket wrapping around the spine.
Synopsis
Goodnight Moon is an American children's book written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd. It was first published in 1947, and is a highly acclaimed example of a bedtime story. The content depicts the process of a child saying goodnight to everything around: "Goodnight room. Goodnight moon. Goodnight cow jumping over the moon. Goodnight light, and the red balloon..."
