New York: Harper and Brothers, 1947. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition (the only established issue points are on the jacket, but this otherwise conforms to other copies of the first edition which we have examined). Illustrated by Clement Hurd. Oblong octavo. Quarter green cloth and flat illustrated paper over boards. Rubbing, particularly at the bottom edges, very good, and internally fine, lacking the rare dustwrapper. A nice copy of a children's classic.
Synopsis
Goodnight Moon is an American children's book written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd. It was first published in 1947, and is a highly acclaimed example of a bedtime story. The content depicts the process of a child saying goodnight to everything around: "Goodnight room. Goodnight moon. Goodnight cow jumping over the moon. Goodnight light, and the red balloon..."
