The Golden Apples of the Sun by Bradbury, Ray - 1965

London : Rupert Hart-Davies, 1965. 1st Edition 5th or later Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition sixth printing 1965. Hardback book is tight and square. Boards sharp and clean, with lightening to the blue cloth at head of front joint. Title gilt perfect. Text block clean, with reasonably light toning and occasional spot to edges. The FEP has a name in yellow felt tip, and a water stain to the top corner. The contents page has some pencil ticks rubbed out that are only visible in the correct light. There is the occasional spot and the odd turned corner, otherwise the pages are crisp and unblemished. Feels read but still well bound. Has bumps to spine ends. Very good condition. Jacket has rubs and small splits with very minor losses to corners and joint ends. The front panel has a 1mm scratch, and crimping to top edge due to the previous poorly fitted cover. The rear panel has water staining to the top edge, some light grubby marks, and a small loss to bottom edge. Otherwise the jacket has strong bold colours, and is pleasing to the eye. Overall this copy grades very good. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover.
