Volume 1:  Visions of Fantasy  [8], 192 pages, acknowledgements, Introduction: Elves and Fairies versus Bib & Bub, chronology, bibliography, original illustrations and index. Faux marble coloured end pages. The text is illustrated with both colour and black-and-white reproductions of the various artists drawings. Pale apricot coloured boards with white coloured titles and illustration to the backstrip. Dark red coloured place marker in situ  which has some fraying of the end. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, by May Gibbs, with red, black and white coloured titles to the front panel and dark pink, black and green coloured titles to the backstrip. Volume II:  A Collection of Australia's Classic Fantasy Writing  [6], 455, [1] pages, sources, and index. The text is illustrated with both colour and black-and-white reproductions of various artists works. Faux marble and pages. Pale apricot coloured boards with white coloured titles and illustration to the backstrip. Dark red coloured place marker which has some fraying of the end. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, by May Gibbs, with green, black, white and red coloured titles to the front panel and green, dark pink and black coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated slipcase, using the same illustrations as for the two books, by May Gibbs, with black, dark red and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. A collection of classic fantasy tales by Australian authors and illustrators accompanied by a small book on the major illustrators and writers of fantasy works in the 20th century within Australia  in some cases both writer and illustrator. Artists include May Gibbs, Pixie O'Harris, Peg Maltby and Dorothy Wall; and, authors include Jessie Whitfield, Ida Rentoul Outhwaite and the Lindsay Family. Both books shows some rubbing of the book corners and backstrip edges with hints of rubbing to the corners. The backstrips show some sunning otherwise there is no damage to report to the books or to the dustwrapper s. The slipcase shows a little use; rubbing of the corners, with some marks and rubs to the front and a little sun in to the backstrip. Full Number Line. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
