This book is the first major monograph of George Rodrigue, creator of the iconic Blue Dog paintings and recorder of the Cajun way of life in Louisiana. 10 1/4" x 12," 223 pages with over 200 full color plates of Rodrigue's work, the book explores his artistic education, aesthetic principles and Cajun legacy. Text edges show some light soiling and a few random marks and the top edge has a nickel-sized grey stain near the upper right corner, o/w text and boards are clean and unmarked. The hinges are just beginning to loosen and front pastedown is worn through at the lower end of the hinge, creating a paper-thin,three-inch tear, o/w the book shows little evidence of of wear. The dustjacket shows two small price stickers at the top of the front flap, a small, quarter-inch tear at the top of the spine, o/w only minor surface and edgewear. It is not price-clipped.
