Smith Ely Jelliffe (1866-1945) was an eminent American physician, psychiatrist and early psychoanalyst. From 1902 he owned and edited the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease and in 1913 he was founder of Psychoanalytic Review. He was regular correspondent of Freud and Jung and was one of the earliest proponents of Freudian theory in the United States. The binding is firm. A good copy in a tatty, worn dust jacket. pp. 287.
