Described by a previous owner, in a note on the front free end paper, as 'an extremely important account of how the General Strike of May 1926 was defeated'. Blue blind-stamped cloth-covered boards, 151 pages, three folding maps bound in to rear: a map of England and Wales, showing Emergency Divisions, one of the Greater London Metropolitan Police Area and one of Eastern Division (this latter is bound so that it will need trimming at the gutter to be fully unfolded). The fourth map mentioned in the Contents List was apparently not published. Condition notes: Boards a little rubbed, spine soiled and chipped, pages age-darkened. Maps in clean, bright condition.
