St. Louis: N.p., 1921. Hardcover. 4to. Limp black cloth with gilt lettering. (2pp), 11pp. Illustration, floral endpapers. Very good. Faintest of edgewear only. Scarce first and only edition of this slim family history. The Stix family were Jewish dry goods wholesalers, manufacturers and philanthropists prominent in late 19th/early 20th century St. Louis. Blank "Memoranda" page at close largely filled with legible, modern, mostly pencilled family history notes from an unknown and likely elderly family member recording family facts from 1859, naming early children born and recording births, death and marriages going up through 1944, 1969, 1980 and as recent as 1994; several text pages also bear pencil and ink notations likely from this same hand recording data not found in the printed text. A special copy of this extremely uncommon genealogy, certainly printed in a very small quantity strictly for family distribution.
