London: Jas Wade, 1883. 24.8cm x 16.5cm. lvi, 371 pages. Details (including notes) of all the games played by J.H. Zukertort, W. Steinitz, J.H. Blackburne, M. Tchigorin, B. Englisch. G. H. Mackenzie, J. Mason, S. Rosenthal, S. Winawer, H.E. Bird, J. Mortimer, Dr Noa, A. Sellman, and the Rev A.B. Skipworth. Also a selection of games played in the Vizayanagaram Tournament. Original crimson cloth decorated and titled in gilt on the upper board and spine. Black rules and decorations on upper board. The boards (especially the lower board) and the spine are waterstained. Three small holes in the cloth of the upper board. Very slight bleeding of the red cloth dye to bottom edge of prelims, else internally fine with no foxing at all. "F.G. Richardson, 3rd Prize, Victorian Chess Club" written in a contemporary hand on the title page. Rare.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fair.
