The Game of Our Lives

by Gzowski, Peter

Condition: See description

Toronto ON, McClelland and Stewart, 1981, hardcover, 278 pp, first edition, first printing, Very Good in Fair dustjacket. Straight, tight and clean with no markings, light corner and spine end wear. Dustjacket unclipped with original price, edge nicks, chip to front panel, closed edge tears, in new Brodart sleeve. The dustjacket is illustrated with a 'Sketch for Lacing Up' a watercolour by Ken Danby. I believe this to be the first issue jacket, pre-dating the Gretzky pictorial jacket. Gzowski travelled with the Edmonton Oilers during the 1980-81 season and here chronicles the anatomy of a modern hockey team who could 'take it all'. Appended team roster with complete stats to date.
