Etwas stockfleckig. / Original edition in plain editors - brochure. Uncut/Unopened. Slightly foxed. RARE. August Wilhelm Hefter (auch: Heffter; * 30. April 1796 in Schweinitz; † 5. Januar 1880 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Rechtsgelehrter. Geboren als Sohn des einflussreichen Johann Christian Heffter, genoss er seinen ersten Unterricht durch Hauslehrer. Im Mai 1808 besuchte er die Fürstenschule St. Augustin in Grimma und begab sich um Theologie zu studieren an die Universität Wittenberg, wo er sich im Sommersemester 1813 gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder immatrikulierte. Während der Befreiungskriege wurde die Stadt jedoch zur Zielscheibe militärischer Auseinandersetzungen. Daher verließ Heffter die Stadt und bezog im Herbst 1813 die Universität Leipzig, um ein Rechtsstudium fortzusetzen. Im Winter 1815 zog es ihn an die Universität Berlin, wo er andere Aspekte der Rechtswissenschaften kennen lernte. Dort bestand er am 28. März 1816 im Kammergericht von Berlin seine erste juristische Prüfung und wurde am 18. April als Gerichtsreferendar in Jüterbog verpflichtet. Nachdem er 1817 seine Wehrdienst abgeleistet hatte, bestand er im November desselben Jahres seine zweite juristischen Prüfung das Referendariat. Er kehrte nach Berlin zurück und übernahm zunächst unterschiedliche Tätigkeiten, bis er am 22. April 1820 die dritte juristische Prüfung abgelegt hatte. Daraufhin zieht es ihn als Assessor an das neu errichtete Appellationsgericht nach Köln, wird dann Rat bei dem Oberlandesgericht in Düsseldorf. Seine Schrift Athenäische Gerichtsverfassung (Köln 1822) veranlasste 1823 seine Berufung an die Universität Bonn. Von da ging er 1830 als Professor der Rechte nach Halle (Saale), 1833 an die Universität Berlin, wo er zugleich Ordinarius des Spruchkollegiums, später Geheimer Obertribunalsrat, Kronsyndikus und Mitglied des Preußischen Herrenhauses wurde. Er starb in Berlin am 5. Januar 1880. Utmärkt som universitetslärare och praktisk jurist, förvärvade Heffter emellertid förnämligast genom sin skriftställareverksamhet sin stora ryktbarhet. Redan hans förstlingsarbete, Athenäische Gerichtsverfassung (1821), väckte stort uppseende, och detta arbete följdes av de epokgörande verken Institutionen des römischen und des deutschen Civilprocesses (1825), Beiträge zum deutschen Staats- und Fürstenrecht (1829), Lehrbuch des gemeinen deutschen Strafrechts (1833; 6:te uppl. 1857) och Das europäische völkerrecht der gegenwart (1844). Det sista arbetet gjorde Heffters namn berömt i hela Europa, översattes till flera främmande språk och har i Tyskland utgivits i 6, i Frankrike i 3 upplagor. 1866 utkom Civilprocess etc. och 1871 Die sonderrechte der Souveränen und der mediatisierten vormals reichsständischen Häuser Deutschlands. If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

Effects of cancellation

If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).

We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Exceptions to the right of cancellation

The right of cancellation does not apply to:

the delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and

the supply of digital content (including ebooks) which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not cancel it once delivery had started.
