First edition, 1/150 copies (this # 89) of the De Luxe edition, signed by the author and Jim Nice, the flydresser (limitation leaf included for both volumes). 8vo. Two volumes: 288 pp; volume two with one page of text and four recessed leaves on which are mounted 20 nymphs tied by Nice "to the stringent specifications of Skues," folded accordion-style into the binding. Illustrated from photographs, plates; card, with corrigenda, laid in, signed by the author. "[Skues'] angling was based on superb observation and good sound common snese, and it is he that we have to thank for the great breakthrough into nymph fishing as we now know it ... Donald Overfield arranges carefully his portrait of Skues, linking letters and articles with short, crisp paragraphs to give not only a fine biography of Skues the man, combined with a sparkling picture of Skues the angler" (foreword). Fine. Green Nigerian goatskin, boards framed by a thin gilt rule, gilt title, rules, and ornament between raised bands on spines, a.e.g., by Aquarius. Housed in the publisher's cloth slipcase.
