First Edition. 16pp. 8vo, disbound; (a few pages foxed, small light dampstain throughout). Lancaster, (PA.): Printed by Mary Dickson, 1823.<br/><br/> In 1823, Mary Dickson became the sole proprietress of the Lancaster, Pennsylvania printing shop she had founded with her husband, William, and his brother Robert. William Dickson died in 1823. In 1799, Mary and the Dickson Brothers founded the anti-Federalist newspaper, the Lancaster Intelligencer. The Dickson's firm printed for Mathew Carey some of Carey's publications. This pamphlet is an early example of American printing by a printing firm owned by a woman.<br/><br/>
