Hobart: Davies Bros. Ltd.. [1924].. First edition. 4to. [viii], 96pp, portrait (Capt Larsen of the Ross Sea Whaling Expedition), 48 full-page photographs by the author, full-page map. Original cloth-backed papered boards, staple-bound and cut flush, title and decorations in gilt on front cover. Spine sunned and with slight loss of cloth at the head, the boards in nice clean condition. Gift inscription on title-page. A few small silverfish holes near the lower corner; in all other respects a nice clean copy. ***Villiers' first book: he accompanied the Norwegian Ross Sea Whaling Expedition, which left Hobart in November 1923, as a journalist for the Hobart Mercury. .
