Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1905. Hardcover. 8vo. Dark green cloth with gilt and red lettering and gilt, red and black pictorial stamping. viii, 347pp, (1p ad). Tissue-guarded frontispiece, 6 full-page illustrations (as called for). Very good. Faintest of edgewear; mild front pastedown abrasion from bookplate removal. A tight and nice first edition of this chronicle of such early explorers as Jacques Cartier, Samuel de Champlain, Jean Nicollet, Louis Joliet, Jacques Marquette, Robert Cavelier and others.
