London: Rich & Cowan, 1939. Von Papen was perhaps the very last Catholic to hold any kind of power in Germany during the Third Reich. This biography tells of his gradual decline as National Socialism became more popular, and his eventual acceptance of Nazism in order to hang onto some political power under hitler's new leadership. Von Papen is one of the key figures in Hitler's rise to power, had he remained as chancellor in 1932 then perhaps Nazism would have simply petered out.. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 220x150mm.
