Paris., 1766. In the mid-eighteenth century French mapmaking was at its peak. Brion de la Tour was one of its most prolific cartographers. This beautiful decorated little map, elegantly surrounded by an ornate engraved uncoloured frame, is a fine example of the period. Published in the "Atlas General, Civil et Ecclesiastique". Sheet size: 377 x 293 mm. Plate size: 316 x 284 mm. Copper engraving. Original colour. Good condition. Minor split to lower central fold.
