In this jovial letter, which includes five handwritten words, Cukor talks about mutual acquaintances in the entertainment industry and discusses his plans for upcoming projects, in part: "This is the life! What a racket - this writing reviews, biographies -- and cleaning up. Boy, it's lucky for you that I didn't find out how easy it is - I'd've gone after Ethel Merman myself. But from here on in, no holds barred! I'm in this for good - so watch out...I'm going to follow Liz Smith's invaluable and intelligent suggestion that I write 'MY FRIEND, GRETA'. No - I'd better not do that because Gaylor Hauser said 'She's my best friend.' I'll think up another title...I'm glad that it was happy times with Miss Merman; also that you talked yourself into getting one percent of the Cole Porter show.
