Tight binding; unmarked text; browning to endpapers; thin band of staining visible along the bottom edge of the boards, as well as the bottom edge of the fly leaf, half-title, and page 3; foxing to top-edge. The DJ with a small area of staining to the spine; spine lightly faded as well; minor edgewear, including a few shallow snags. This book includes a Christmas card from the founder of New Directions, James Laughlin, handwritten on ND stationary, 'Merry Christmas P + E, Jim'.
