Clarke was a British science fiction writer and inventor, who is widely regarded as a key figure in the popularisation of space travel. His screenplay for the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey, which was co-written with Stanley Kubrick, is considered to be one of the most influential films of all time. The Fountains of Paradise was described by Clarke as his best work, and tells the story of the construction of a space elevator developed in the 22nd century. The work was awarded both the Hugo and Nebula Award for Best Novel. Condition: In a blue cloth binding in the original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally in excellent condition with just some slight sunning to the extremities and the head and tail of the spine. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Dustwrapper is in excellent condition, with just some mild age toning to the flyleaves. Internally firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Overall Condition: Fine in a Fine dustwrapper.
